5 axis YCM MV106A Machining Centre – Diagnosis and Replacement UR240D Power Supply

Diagnosis of Fault Codes ‘Error in the safety status of the HSCI transfer’, ‘C030 Alarm with supply voltages CC0’ and ‘C038 Voltage monitoring CC0 voltage’

Engineering Equipment Centre Ltd (EEC Ltd)Authorised HEIDENHAIN Distributors and Engineers, received a callout from a local company operating a 5 axis YCM MV106A machining centre which was reporting a number of faults.  The logged faults included ‘Error in the safety status of the HSCI transfer’, ‘C030 Alarm with supply voltages CC0’ and ‘C038 Voltage monitoring CC0 voltage’.

Error in the safety status of the HSCI transfer

Reported Fault Code: Error in the safety status of the HSCI transfer

C030 Alarm with supply voltages CC0

Reported Fault Code: C030 Alarm with supply voltages CC0

C038 Voltage monitoring CC0 voltage

Reported Fault Code: C038 Voltage monitoring CC0 voltage

EEC ltd immediately initiated our due diligence by researching the likely of the cause of the faults, prior to visiting the customer, examining pertinent service documents. EEC are privy to view genuine service documents which are not publicly available, due to our certified status as an authorised “HEIDENHAIN SERVICE PARTNER”.

We determined the power supply to be the likely cause of the fault codes, and set out to visit the customer on-site

EEC arrived on site to find that the machine would not power up at all – despite there being 3 phases going into the YCM MV106A machining centre – and it’s UR240D power supply, but no voltages coming out of the UR 240D. With no power to the machining centre, it was not possible to perform any more tests to the machine until a replacement UR 240D was installed. It is critically important that voltages could be distributed correctly around the rest of the HEIDENHAIN components and other machining critical devices before progressing further. As the UR 240D was one of the suspect issues through the initial research through our service partner network, a replacement unit was ordered –  delivered direct from Germany to EEC Ltd.

Once installed, the motor power cables on all 5 axis and low voltages could be checked before fully commissioning the devices, testing and handing over to the customer for production.
